Regional Advisory Meeting Recap

March 2022

Great meeting all! 😊 Thanks to Janet and Lori, as always, for presenting and helping to moderate the meeting!  Thank you to each of you as well for participating, sharing updates on your programming, and making this year such a marked improvement over last year!

Finance Updates

Highlights:

  • Overall, we’re doing so much better than last year! Way to go team!!

  • Keep spending down RACE and GAE. As you know these grants end earlier than AEFLA & Reallocated AEFLA.

  • Our program revenue is showing great signs of recovery; but if we can’t spend down our funds, we may very well need to have a conversation about decreasing PI requirements.

  • SLCA Reminder - If you can’t spend it down, please let us know ASAP (someone else can!)

  • Grant Funded Physical Inventory Reconciliation:

    • Complete physical inventory of items purchased in FY20 & FY21

    • Master list and documentation to be sent by end of March to local programs; final report DUE JUNE 30TH

  • Updated Deadline - Final RACE & GAE Budget Amendments Due to regional office by Thursday, March 31st

  • AEFLA & Reallocated AEFLA Budget Amendments Due to regional office by May 13th

Highlights:

  • Site Visit Data Review Document

  • GED Voucher Extension/Replacement Information

  • New VDOE Initiative: Free GED Test Voucher Program

    • Janet Jaufmann is our regional contact for this new initiative

      • Qualification requirements:

        • Student must be enrolled in program with at least 12 hours

        • GED Ready score = 145+

        • UPDATE: Vouchers can be used for both in-person and online testing

  • VDOE Data Training Recap - Attendance Upload to SSWS (voluntary, not required)

  • Update to entering Program Type for ABE/ASE students
