Memo No. 052-22: Funds Available for Professional Development

In Adult Education Director’s Memo #003-17, issued on November 13, 2017, adult education providers were reminded to code charges for professional development to the Administrative component of their federal grants.

This memo is to clarify that relevant professional development costs may also be charged to state funds, including General Adult Education (GAE), State Lead Coordinating Agency (SLCA), Race to GED®, and PluggedIn VA funds. State funds do not have an associated Administrative component of the grant; therefore, the distinction between Administrative and Instructional components does not apply.
