Citizenship Instruction Resource from New Readers Press
ProLiteracy announced that there have been reports that students are being asked to define legal terms, which are not "words in ordinary usage", during their English speaking portion of the naturalization test.
This practice is inconsistent with naturalization policy, but New Readers Press went ahead and released this resource, Tricky Vocabulary in Part 12 of the N-400 Application, which provides definitions for some of these words. It may be a good idea to try and incorporate some of these terms into the vocabulary for citizenship instruction to ensure that students are as prepared as possible for their naturalization test.
