CASAS/Data Updates - 12/2/21

It all begins with an idea.

CASAS Webinar (November 17, 2021)

I missed the monthly CASAS webinar in November but I did listen to the recordings and review the slides and found some things of interest:

  • If you have TOPSpro Enterprise (TE) enhanced and you collect attendance or plan to collect attendance in TE, there is a phone app, TE Classmate, which allows your teachers to enter their class attendance on their phones. For more information, click here: https://www.casas.org/product-overviews/software/topspro-enterprise/te-classmate

  • TE can also auto-generate student IDs for you if you do not have student ID numbers for your program from a different source. The information is presented in the webinar and in this document.

The CASAS webinar slides and recording can be found here: https://www.casas.org/social-media-newsroom/webinars

Also, if you would like more general information on using TE, CASAS has a live facilitated training on December 9th from 1-2:30 pm (EST).

Data PLC Meeting (November 18, 2021)

The data PLC group met in November and we reviewed the 20-21 data but also discussed implementing data uploads starting with attendance. Once we have the exact format, I will test attendance uploads in the SSWS test environment and then work with you to see if it is feasible to implement this in your program. I believe, in the long run, this will be a time saver for your data entry staff.

If this works for attendance, we will look at doing uploads for other data as well.
